Dispute & Conflict Resolution International (DCRI) is a firm, established in April 2016 to provide Mediation services and Mediation training in organisations and communities in both public and private sectors with the aim of enabling people manage disputes and conflicts arising amongst them and to secure peaceful co-existence and harmony in their daily lives.

Mediation is a form of third party intervention in a conflict with the stated purpose of contributing to its abatement or resolution through negotiation. In a situation where two or more parties to a conflict find it difficult to manage and resolve their conflict on their own, it may be appropriate to recommend an impartial outsider to help in resolving the conflict situation.
Successful mediation depends not only on the mediator’s knowledge and skill about conflict and conflict management, but also on his prestige and authority, originality of ideas, access to resources and ability to act unobtrusively.
Mediation is not a legal or judicial skill. It is not necessary for a mediator to be a lawyer or a judge or to be conversant with the law.
The need for trained Mediators grows from day to day, as disputes arise. As more and more people appreciate the disillusionment of resorting to litigation, we can expect the demand for Mediators to grow.
As the Judiciary extends its use of mediation to rural areas many more qualified Mediators will be needed.
Mediation helps people reach agreements, rebuild relationships, and find permanent solutions to their disputes. It is a process that lets people speak for themselves and make their own decisions.
The purpose for training will be to build capacity for civic leaders and other community elders to mediate disputes in the neighbourhoods where they occur therefore diffusing tension and ensuring that there is permamnent peace and prevention of violence.
